"She was the only man he ever loved."
The story of Barry Winchell, a soldier of the 101st Airborne Division, who was murdered by a fellow soldier on July 4, 1999, shortly after the "don't ask, don't tell" policy came into effect. On an outing with his buddies, Barry was captivated by the beautiful Calpernia Addams, a transsexual performer at a local Nashville nightclub. The story focuses on the romance that develops between them.
