Anyone who expects a settlement à la Poirot is well worth the effort.

The story does make sense because it characterizes the mentality and atmosphere at the beginning of the 20th century in and around an expensive boarding school and above all because of its brilliant cinematic value, in terms of image formation: the dressed-up, dreamy, romantic young girls, as if plucked from a French impressionist canvas. , the landscape with the mysterious Hanging Rock, the strict headmaster within an equally strict decor...all presented in front of the camera in the best possible way.

What we see and what we seem, are but a dream. A dream with a dream.

The beautiful opening line of Picnic at Hanging Rock. And that's how the movie feels. The dreamy atmosphere is really fantastic, enhanced by the great hazy photography and the wonderful music with the very beautiful pamflute solos of Gheorghe Zamfir. Peter Weir presents this melancholic and mysterious film in a great way with some deeper layers. The whole story is very nice, the search for the missing girls is beautifully portrayed and continues to fascinate until the end. This also applies to the complications surrounding the school. Although the girls who are missing are only briefly in the picture, they still make quite an impression. The decoration of the film is also very beautiful to behold. Audio/visual this is fantastic. Very nice use of Beethoven's "Adagio" from Piano Concerto No. 5.

Very nice film with a wonderful dreamy atmosphere.

Sufficient for the music, the beautiful young ladies and the fairly evil head mistress, but all in all I didn't think this was special. In the end it's hard not to start doing other things and I don't get that so fast. setback.
