Legendary comedian John Belushi died of a drug overdose in 1982 at the age of 33. The American was one of the first comedians on the popular show 'Saturday Night Live' and paved the way for many comedians and actors. In 1979 he left 'SNL' to focus entirely on a film career, after which it only went downhill. This is his story told through interviews with family, friends and colleagues.

First-class documentary about the life and work of comedian John Belushi, who died much too soon. On the basis of great archive material and atmospheric animation scenes, without talking heads, a penetrating picture is slowly but surely sketched of the talented but heavily addicted Belushi, who died of a heroin overdose at the age of 33. Beautiful anecdotes also from people like Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd.

A strange film based on a sound recording that Tanner Colby made for an 'oral history'. Suitable as a podcast, less successful as a documentary. In any case, John's wife Judith, his brother Jim and his main professional partner Dan Aykroyd are spoken extensively, but the use of animations to fill in the gaps comes across as a desperate move.
