Tony Curtis: Driven to Stardom plot
In this documentary we see how Tony Curtis (1925-2010) went from teen idol to serious actor. A path that was not a bed of roses. His greatest successes were 'Spartacus', 'Sweet Smell of Succes' and especially his portrayal of female musician Josephine in Billy Wilder's 'Some Like it Hot' (1958). In one of the last long interviews of his life, Curtis candidly talks about his troubled childhood in The Bronx, his love-hate relationship with Hollywood, his childhood affair with Marilyn Monroe and his failed marriages to actresses Janet Leigh and Christine Kaufmann. Curtis found happiness later in life with his last wife Jill. Also speaking are Debbie Reynolds, his co-star in several films, his last wife Jill, his ex-wife Christine Kaufmann, as well as Curtis' boyfriend Harry Belafonte.
