I saw it last night. It is a typical comedy where the idea has been worked out many times, only each time in a different form. Fortunately, I could laugh at it a few times. Brendan Fraser is not one of my favorite actors, but I thought he did a good job here. The rest of the acting is a bit mediocre, but not annoying either. Of course, the animals are the main attraction, and I liked the scenes with them the most. At some point, the film goes a bit too far in this idea. And of course the ending is a big cliché, but I didn't expect anything else. The film is not boring, and I also like having seen it once, but it is not exactly a special film.

A real children's/family film that is entertaining for all ages.

The animals, led by a cheeky raccoon, do everything they can to prevent their forest from disappearing. Which makes for some funny situations with their victim Dan (Brendan Fraser). He was so fat for this role, he looked exactly like Bart De Wever in this

Then there was Brooke Shields who I hadn't seen in years and who suddenly wasn't the pretty young girl from the Blue Lagoon anymore haha. And then there was a Chinese who was pretty annoying, but for some reason also nice..

It was all very predictable of course, but I still kept watching. Also to the end credits, because they are still funny with those parody pieces.

Real estate developer Dan Sanders [Brendan Fraser] leaves Chicago for the picturesque Rocky Springs for 12 months for a project commissioned by Neal Lyman [Ken Jeong]. Wife Tammy [Brooke Shields] takes a job as a teacher, but teenage son Tyler [Matt Prokop] rebels. The situation becomes even more dire when Dan agrees to an extension of the project in exchange for a promotion, which means he has to stay in Rocky Springs for 3 more years. Moreover, the project will cost a large piece of forest. The local animal population is not happy about that and decides to make Dan's life miserable. Considering the technological possibilities of CGI, the basic premise is not bad, but screenwriters Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert mainly use it as an excuse for a flood of infantile jokes and Kumble hopelessly overacts his cast. One of the many nails in the coffin of the acting careers of Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields.
