Crash Pad plot
"He finally met the love of his life... Then he met her husband."
The hopeless romantic Stensland thinks he has found true love in the older Morgan. However, he discovers that she is married and that she sees their relationship only as a means of revenge against her neglectful husband. Stensland threatens to tell the truth to her husband, but his plan fails when the latter decides to give his wife a taste of his own medicine.

Pointless movie.
I really don't understand what purpose this movie was written for. Protagonist is an incredibly annoying and petty character who is difficult to empathize with. It is clear that what he desires and pursues is misguided to say the least, and what his goal should actually be never becomes entirely clear. Probably something to do with self-respect, but in the end most attention is focused on the love relationship of secondary characters - and that is not even interesting.
In the meantime, we are treated to a ridiculous sequence full of questionable decisions and a lot of unfunny humor. I always like Gleeson as an actor, but the energy he brings here misses the mark at every opportunity.
Particularly irritating film, which mainly lacks characters, emotions and situations to get involved in and probably mainly wants to be 'funny', in a way that didn't do anything for me. 1.5*

Cool.
Fairly dry in terms of humor, but also quite predictable in terms of progression. Crash Pad is a snack just the way I like it, but it can't rise above that either. Domnhall Gleeson as a scrawny loser in a combo with the macho Thomas Haden Church is very successful. Both gentlemen perform their roles excellently. Despite the limited playing time, there is also a search for a suitable ending, but as befits a rom-com, this is accompanied by some stiff twists and turns in order to get it all where one wants it.

Oh yes, entertaining enough thanks to the cast. Some comical situations and drama here and there to gradually follow the predictable path. Nina Dobrev plays a smaller role as Morgan's (Christina Applegate) secretary. We know the latter from Married..with children. Small, entertaining film that is quite enjoyable. 6/10
