Anger Management plot

"Feel the love."

Quiet businessman Dave Buznik (Adam Sandler) is mistakenly sent on an anger management course. Here he comes into contact with the touchy doctor Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson). It is precisely this psychotic instructor who manages to bring out the irritation in Dave, because if anyone needs such a course, it is Rydell himself.

Poo with a big P, the only thing that keeps me from the lowest possible rating is Nicholson. 1,5*

Mme.

Fairly average Sandler movie. This time he is only allowed to walk next to a very famous actor, one that I did not expect in this film. The credit goes to Nicholson, a name that just seems too good to me for a movie like this. He plays by far the best part, although Sandler also does what he has to do.

The story is a bit on the simple side and a bit of morality towards the finale causes some question marks. Furthermore, this is a fairly predictable film with some pros and cons. The negatives are mainly on the side of the comedy, of which many jokes fail to land. Even from experienced actors, the monologues and dialogues never come out great. Still a pity.

Nevertheless, the first half is well entertaining and the film enters a path that is not immediately obvious. I can only enjoy it, but it doesn't take away that the film goes a bit out of control in the second half. To try not to be predictable, the film takes a number of twists (The fake relationship of Nicholson and Tomei) that are too hard to place. Furthermore, a forgettable, but pleasant viewing experience that never bores.

Quite a ridiculous movie actually. I also wonder what Nicholson was doing here. Not that he's out of place (he's back to acting as usual and is comfortable in his role), but I didn't expect him with such a poorly written script. The film has a few successful jokes, the rest is just mediocre in terms of humor (just like certain characters). Can't give this movie more than 2 stars.
