Beautifully beautiful film, but it all has too little to do. Could have been a classic with a sharper plot and ending.

Hard to judge.... I was a bit tired, that won't help but the film didn't touch me. I didn't really get into the story and struggled to empathize with the main characters. It's not the acting and certainly not the visual spectacle. In the beginning, the connection between the two stories remains a bit too implicit for me to be able to captivate. That will get better later, but even then, I'm not really hit. But - if you like this genre - it is definitely a good above average movie. Especially Catinca Untaru plays really great. So natural that it seems as if she has not been given any text but can simply follow her gut feeling (which undoubtedly was not the case). I have rarely seen a child play so confidently. The rest of the cast is also fine. So, yeah, how do you rate a movie like that? I really think it's worth 4 stars, but for me no more than 3. This time nicely average out at 3.5.

A little girl is in hospital with a broken arm. There she encounters another patient who is going to tell her an epic story. It turns out to be a story in which they both participate and which is based on things they have experienced. It all looks very beautiful, with great decors, effects and colors. Clearly a film that cost a lot of money. But the story itself is muddled, unclear where it will go and, above all, not fun. It also takes way too long which makes it even boring at times. The film is presented as if it were a youth film. But I can hardly imagine that children will understand the story of the film. And let alone that they will find it a fun movie. Half a point extra for the beautiful images and also the addition of the historical film fragments, but that still doesn't give the film enough for me.
