In the end, the concept itself was a bit better than the movie itself, but I still had a great time. The main point of criticism is a bit with Kainan himself, how and why exactly he ends up on Earth with the Moorwen should have been explored much better to make his story really interesting. Now there is a light science-fiction touch, but above all a lot of historical hacking: I would have liked to see a better combination of both genres. Hats off to most of the actors, but Sophia Myles and her very neat British accent don't catch on at all as a Viking woman. Fortunately, people like John Hurt always make something beautiful out of their roles, typically an actor who makes every film a lot better.

Fortunately, it was all beautifully filmed. The film reminded me a bit of Pathfinder at times because of the color filter, but luckily it was a bit more inspiring. The action itself was sometimes a bit fleeting, but in a way that it didn't get too unclear. All in all just a nice film, too bad it wasn't more successful in the cinemas.

Didn't think it was very special. I actually expected little or nothing from it, but it didn't turn out much either. Plot is of course very stupid and goes very simply from A to B as you see in many of these productions, nowhere challenging or original. Monsters itself wasn't terribly ugly, but far too animated to be taken seriously, and certainly nowhere scary or exciting.

Had it turned into a nice horror with a less sci-fi background and a better looking monster and you would have had a very exciting movie. In fact, it seems to have come to little/nothing. Saw it after an hour. It has some nice action and some nice effects, but that's about it.

What I also think is a shame is that Caviezel takes on these kinds of roles, the man can do much better.

Iniminie 2.5 * where I actually quickly start to lean towards a bit lower.

Uninspiring film that I will soon forget. Actors could only moderately engross in a story that did not rise above average due to predictability and lack of suspense
