So Peyton.

In any case, not the best director for me, but he knows how to conjure up quite a few spectacles on the big screen sometimes. It's a shame that his little bit in the Journey series didn't quite turn out well. Just like part 1, it just didn't quite succeed.

Hutchinson has aged a bit, but is doing fine. Johnson seems to suddenly pop up in every action Hollywood movie. I see Peyton likes to keep using that man. Hudgens also just looks good but yeah.

Effects often a bit wooden, but plenty of adventure. Too bad that the real mystery content is gone early and doesn't exactly captivate, making everything seem like an excuse to just conjure up spectacle. So not too successful. All in all, I just had fun with it.

Slightly better than the first.

But not much.

Still a weak script, bad dialogues and mediocre actors, even Caine can't save it. The CGI is a bit better, the giant lizard and the Nautilus are even just fine, but come on, this is Verne!

It can be so much better than this, it can be so much more. Think of an elaboration a la LOTR.

Peter Jackson, where are you?

Youth film that is a bit less serious than its predecessor, while it had Brendan Fraser! The silly jokes don't really add value, but Dwayne Johnson feels comfortable in those kinds of films. The pace is high again and the emphasis is on digital creations. And yet Michael Caine is brought in. He is immediately put opposite Johnson during the few dialogues that the film has. The rest is adventure and visual spectacle.
