Raw action movie. Four Brothers has a lot of action, some humor and is also quite exciting at times. Excellent ingredients for a successful film. And then you also have a number of actors who are on a roll. Wahlberg and Gibson in particular do well and form a surprisingly strong quartet together with Hedlund and Benjamin. With the wintry and gray Detroit as an atmospheric decor. Nothing wrong with that.

It's okay.
Neither grand drama nor action spectacle: the film falls somewhere in between. Mark Wahlberg leads a fairly occupied cast in terms of names and with his casting it is immediately clear that there is not much in the way of layering. Not a problem in itself, because it all looks easy. The setting is gray enough and when action is involved, it is usually portrayed without too many frills.
