Bait plot
"Alvin Sanders is going to help the Feds catch a killer. He just doesn't know it yet."
Alvin Sanders is on his way to jail when he spends some time in jail with a dying guy. With his dying breath, he tells Alvin about the 43 million gold bars he has hidden. The officers are looking for the other perpetrator of the robbery, and use Alvin as bait to find him.

Seen it before and it's really no more than a 13 in a dozen standard action movie with some comic elements here and there. This film is certainly not bad because it looked nice and was also quite entertaining. The cast also did quite well and then of course Jamie Foxx and David Morse. Just a nice action film that can be watched well (here and there also nice action) on a weekday.

Friendly. Bait is one of those predictable 90s action movies (although released in 2000), which borrows heavily from many different movies (the much better Enemy of the State in particular). The film aims to combine action, comedy and also a critical message (value of privacy), but none of the three elements really work. David Morse is still nice as a bad guy, but actors like Jamie Foxx, Elise, Pastorelli, Kennedy and Paymer do not convince for a moment.
