Who Killed Captain Alex? plot
"EXPECT THE UNEXPECTABLE!"
A mafia leader's brother is captured in a firefight, which entails a revenge attack on the army camp. But when troop leader Captain Alex is killed in a raid, it escalates into a violent war between both sides. The captain's brother takes matters into his own hands, while the mafia henchmen take to the skies to bomb Kampala.

On the one hand, this is of course fantastic. I have every sympathy and a lot of respect for what Nabwana IGG conjures up on the screen from his room in Uganda with a budget of clearly nothing. The DIY passion and fun radiate from it, and I am really not disappointed with what we get to see for a budget of (apparently) $200. But while it is occasionally enjoyable as a guilty pleasure, it is also just not that good. There is hardly any plot, and it is an accumulation of not very original, ultra low-budget action scenes that are occasionally quite funny, but it does get tiring for a film. And not that Nabwana can do anything about it, but the version that survives has a voice-over from a VJ that sometimes started to get on my nerves. Amateurish to the core, but more fun than anything I have seen from Nigeria, and big kudos to Wakaliwood and I hope they continue making films. I'm definitely curious about Bad Black.

Stumbled upon this quite by chance and indeed: so bad that it becomes fun. An action film with limited resources and that is also visible in all its facets. Funny - although this was perhaps not the intention - and therefore quite entertaining.
We did experience some nice dialogues or one-liners, such as "German food" or "they walk slow, so they think slow" for logic that is flawless or the great Bruce U. The latter is simply super and hilarious, the bloodshed and the helicopter equally so.
Not exactly a masterpiece, but it is fun. A 1.5* for the effort then.

Top film of the highest order. IGG hits you over the head with everything he has: guns, cows, kung fu, a motorbike, helicopters, MIDI music, commandos, local wildlife, you name it. And VJ Emmie also throws a bunch of one-liners and jokes over it. The fun is bursting at the seams. This is an incredibly successful attempt to make an action film by a group of people who don't seem to have the means to do so. What turns out? With enough fun, perseverance and goodwill, they still succeed. The fact that the plot is impossible to follow is of secondary importance. What matters is: Supa Action Movie! And the film succeeds with flying colours. Kick-ass do-it-yourself cinema.
ps too bad that many people here say that they think this is great and then give the film a big fail. Sometimes it seems like people vote on how many dollars they see on the screen instead of how they are entertained by the film.
