When her husband and daughter are shot and Riley wakes from her coma, she trains for years to take revenge on the perpetrators. After five years, she puts her revenge plan into action. Action specialist Morel does a solid job of doing what he previously did with Taken: Turning a simple narrative into an effective thriller. Very loud often, but also stylish and dignified. In the wrong hands it could have turned out to be an ordinary and yet another revenge movie, but you can go along with this quite well. Apart from the mediocre acting in the supporting roles, there is no false note in between. Strong lead role by Garner who very beautifully depicts the improbable transformation from working family woman to tormented avenging angel. If you want to deliver a film without depth if necessary, do it like this Peppermint.
