mr. Beetle seeks company from a stately and dancing dragonfly. However, he is unaware of her ex-boyfriend, a frail grasshopper, who watches every move they make. Does Mrs. Beetle forgive him? Will he get away with adultery?

Hell hath no fury like a... (camera)man whose intended female company was rudely claimed by another man.
Suppose you have an affair in town, return home, catch your wife with another, beat him up, make up with your wife, then go to the cinema together... where the main feature extensive footage of your adventure, shot by the person you had that date stolen...
That, in a nutshell, is the story (I don't think the plot is exactly correct here) of this Russian short (stop-motion) film from 1912 again (there will be another edifying message) about various insects (the painter was a cockroach I believe...?). Very amusing, but mainly because of the animations this attracted me, after a tip from Flavio (thanks again). The music whines a bit, but fits fine.

By the way, the poster states (not good enough for MoMe I think): "1911 silent film by the Russian master of dead bug animation master Wladyslaw Starewicz" --- 'master of dead bug animation'... Anyway, 1911, but everywhere else I see 1912.
