Max has endured the necessary changes in his so familiar life: his owner Katie has found the man of her dreams and has expanded her family with her son Liam. There is little original to discover in this disappointing sequel. Family expansion with a spouse and a child creates new perils, as does a visit to a farm. Harrison Ford makes his animated debut, but the role of the old dog who's seen it all is too predictable. Incidentally, this applies to the entire film, which consists of different storylines that are only loosely connected to each other, each containing the same exhausted central message about courage that confirms that people have completely fallen back on a worn-out formula. Young children will not care much about this and the voice cast in the English spoken version at least tries to save what can be saved.

Entertaining film for young and old. The story is simple, but well presented. It ensures that 4 storylines come together to form a whole. That works fine. The film has the necessary humor, also for adults there is enough to laugh. Towards the end it gets pretty exciting too. Visually, the film also looks good with a fine soundtrack. A great family film where no one gets bored. 4.0

Half an hour better than the first part. In any case, a lot quieter and although there is nothing special or special in the film, it is still reasonable to watch. After that, however, the kids have to be shaken up again I think and the noise comes back with lots of annoying characters and a lot of hassle that doesn't matter. Visually sometimes really ugly (the colors anyway, but also the style and in terms of technical ingenuity) and in terms of soundtrack also not very special (Jefferson Airplane of course is played very softly). 1,5*,
