Nice light animation film that is easy to look away. A friend of mine wanted me to watch this movie, I agreed on the condition that he went to watch fight club. It takes a while before totoro came into the picture, would have liked to see him more in the film because he was not in the picture very often. Mei sometimes found it a bit irritating with her yelling. In any case, the film has a nice and fun story. Recommended!

A wonderful film that is intended for children but can certainly also be viewed by adults. The film is beautifully drawn. It really is a film where you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful world of Miyazaki.

At Hotaru no Haka (1988) after the best I've seen from Studio Ghibli. Wonderful animation film with which Studio Ghibli finally put itself on the map. The creature Totoro itself was commercially linked to Ghibli and went smoothly over the counters as a cuddly toy (etc.).

The story is sublime in its simplicity where two girls go to live in the countryside because their mother is recovering nearby in the hospital. It takes a while for Totoro himself, but those funny black woolen spiders immediately give an impression of the wonderful world of Miyazaki. There is an enormous positivity in the film that makes it seem that the world is rosy. A sweet film in which nature is central and where the music gently flows through the film.

The forest ghosts and the cat bus are mysterious and intriguing, but also endearing. Details stand out and visually the film is a gem. Children and adults alike can enjoy the imaginative world of Miyazaki. The scene at the bus stop is one to cherish and symbolizes the film. That scene - which radiates friendship, innocence, unity and mystery - has become the symbol of the film and perhaps of Studio Ghibli as a whole. Good looking!
