Inception plot

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a master thief, specializing in stealing valuable secrets in a human's dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. This makes Cobb a sought-after player in the treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but at the same time, it has also made him an international refugee, which could cost him everything he once loved. Well. A complicated and complex film is not always synonymous with a good film. I really like the idea of intruding into someone's dreams. In a way, Nolan did think about the story. It's a shame that the concept of dreaming doesn't really get much done. Nolan largely uses the dreams as an excuse to put action scenes in the movie. (And they're not even very good or special action scenes). At the beginning of the film Nolan does something interesting and visually beautiful with the inverted city, but unfortunately this line is hardly continued.
I personally think a more subdued and tension-oriented approach would have worked better for me. Between all the (unnecessary) action, Nolan crams the story of Dom's wife. This story is cleverly put together, but it didn't touch me at all. Especially from the snow world the film gets really boring.
Positives: The special effects are impressive and Zimmer's music fits the film very well. The acting is strong, especially Leonardo DiCaprio is very convincing in his role.

During your dreams your consciousness is weakened and that makes it easy to steal dreams. Inception is the ability to invade someone's dream and plant an idea in that person's head. Dream Agent Cobb [Leonardo DiCaprio] claims to be able to do this and gets the lucrative job of applying it to Robert Fischer [Cillian Murphy]. That gives him enough money to pay off his debt and return to his children. Together with partner Arthur [Joseph Gordon-Levitt] and dream builder Ariadne [Elliot Page], he sets the operation in motion. DiCaprio's playing is intense and the special effects are downright impressive, but after all the theoretical ramblings about what could be possible in dreams, my attention already lost quite a bit. At some point, the agents decide they need to invade a dream within a dream within a dream. That looks nice, but to me this falls into the category of pretentious bullshit.
