After 19 years, a sequel to one of my favorite movies. Of course that can only go wrong

Always thought Unbreakable would lend itself well to a sequel. Biggest disappointment for me was that this was mainly Split 2, with bit parts for Jackson and Willis. McAvoy is again very good, but the posturing in the clinic takes a long time, I was actually waiting all the time for the film to start. The interaction between Dunn and Price, and the role they play in their superhero story, is a replay of moves. On reflection, I actually had no idea what an Unbreakable 2 should have looked like differently. 2 hours of Willis vs. Jackson, or Dunn against a whole new bad guy, wouldn't have been a good idea either.

Pros: The film picks up a bit more momentum in the last half hour. Nice that Dunn's son is playing again, with the same actor, and there are still some nice shots to enjoy and some nostalgic images from the still fantastic Unbreakable.

Tight enough

I don't understand why this movie is so criticized by the critics. I really liked the plot twists. I never expected that Elijah killed Kevin's father when he was on the same train as David. Also, I never expected that there was an organization after the three, which ended up killing David and Kevin.

As crazy as it sounds, the ending touched me so much that I literally cried at the end. You can say what you want about it, but with such good films you just start to care a lot about these kinds of characters. Kevin and Dunn are such well-developed characters that you just don't want them to die or be killed. And also just the way. I loved this movie. Whatever the critics say, I don't think M. Night Shyamalan has unlearned his twists.

His first five films, with the exception of Lady in The Water, I still liked, although I could see that there was a downward trend in them, but this really isn't about anything anymore. The creepy Shyamalan atmosphere is nowhere to be found and also the characteristic unexpected twist at the end hits like a pig here. Shyamalan also played a part in his own film of course, very badly by the way. When I think of director cameos, I mainly think of Hitchcock, so it's not all that original. Furthermore, McAvoy plays a terribly exaggerated and annoying role as someone who suffers from a multiple personality disorder. During the credits, under the heading cast, all 24 personalities of that character are briefly mentioned, as if it were the credits of a comedy.
