Community plot
Community revolves around a study group at Greendale Community College. The central figure in the story is Jeff Winger, a suspended lawyer who returns to lectures after his diploma was declared invalid. Winger sets up a study group to impress Britta Perry.

Beautiful series, which I discovered by accident earlier by recording them on the Belgian channel Q2. The premise may not be very original in itself, but what is done with it all the more. This series clearly doesn't take itself too seriously, judging by the many references to other sitcoms, movies and the like, often by one of the main characters, the somewhat unusual Abed.
The series is basically about a lawyer who has an invalid license and thus has to go back to school, as on his first day encounters a beautiful blonde and, being his arrogant self, decides to want her for himself win. Coincidentally, a real study group is created, with diverse, colorful characters; enough material to put together some great episodes. 'Modern Warfare', 'Home Economics' (Pierce as keyboard player!) and 'Spanish 101' are examples of general hilarity.
An interesting and above all incredibly funny side character is Señor Chang, the Asian Spanish teacher. Pierce (a great role by Chevy Chase) is also a hilarious character: a retired CEO who is going back to college. The chemistry between Abed and Troy is also fantastic, and often makes for a very funny coda.
There will be a few more seasons after this first, and that's completely right. I wonder if the high level will remain.

What I also read here: it takes a while before everything falls into place. The characters don't make much of an impression in the first episodes, but towards the end you start to feel more and more for them. I like plain humor, so Pierce and Chang are my favorite characters for now. The movie references are great too. Not blown away yet.
