Very mediocre series. A bit boring, thin storylines, lack of tension and the acting performances are also not to write home about. The landscapes on the other hand are fantastic. (But then I'll watch a nature film)

Contrary to most reviews I found Åremorden to be quite good in the list of Scandinavian crime series. There are 2 "cases" divided over 5 episodes. Well worth it.

3 1/2 *

Flimsy story and also very poorly worked out. Using the well-known Swedish tricks, the stretching: someone is asked something and only after ten seconds or so an answer comes. Or someone is at the door and before that person is finally inside we are an eternity further. Just to feign film house intelligence. Normally that slow can work well, but here I found it artificial.

Clichéd police officer from the big city ends up helping out on a murder case in a remote corner: the inexperienced blue type. During a search, she accidentally hears something, passes on the information, and from that moment on she is suddenly someone to be reckoned with haha... Clarice Starling in the making.

Then it turns out that she has been suspended in Stockholm for intimidation, only meant to make something of the main plot itself, which is neither fish nor fowl. Later a phone call comes that she will not be prosecuted anymore. And that was it. A subplot of nothing.

Of course there has to be a dog that becomes .... Well, I don't have to fill that in. At one point there is someone they suspect of murdering the girl and he says, "I didn't kill your daughter, but I did kill your dog!" Okay, and then you see some surprise and the image quickly jumps to the next scene. As if that is all a little less bad and doesn't really matter. Well, I would have given him a quick go at it with that nail gun.

Scandinavian thriller for dummies.
