n the wake of Friday’s severe weather, East Texans are dealing with damages and power outages Friday night.
An East Texas home built over 200 years ago will be dedicated as a historic site. The Gaines-Oliphint House is located by the Texas - Louisiana border in Sabine County. Records show the home was built in 1818, making it the oldest representation of early Anglo architecture in the Piney Woods.
About 150 students will go to a new campus next year, now that Lufkin ISD is no longer part of the Beth & Horace Stubblefield Learning Center Cooperative. Stubblefield gives high school students at risk of falling behind or dropping out a different route to graduate.
