If anyone doubted the power of Ryan Murphy, then consider just some of the Hollywood elite that came out to honor him at last night's amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles: Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lea Michele, Matt Bomer, Diane Kruger, Sarah Hyland, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson, and even a special performance by Lady Gaga. amfAR (the American Foundation for AIDS Research), honored Murphy for his dedicated work and passion toward AIDS research and awareness, as well as gender equality. The event raised more than $3 million to go toward finding a cure for AIDS.
But the moment everyone will be talking about is how Lady Gaga mesmerized the crowd during breaks between soulful ballads. Dripping in stunning Harry Winston jewels (but oddly without her stunning engagement ring), Gaga expressed her displeasure with the men in the audience for failing to bring her a drink, and she somehow managed to seduce everyone in the room while doing so. *American Horror Story: Hotel'*s Sarah Paulson caught up with Scream Queens' Emma Roberts inside the event, held at Milk Studios in Hollywood. Throughout the night, Roberts was seen embracing her aunt, Julia Roberts, and sharing photos with Julia's husband, Danny Moder.
Julia Roberts cozied up to Murphy, whom she worked with on The Normal Heart as well as Eat, Pray, Love.
Modern Family's Sarah Hyland stunned in a floor-length pale pink Jenny Packham gown. In Ryan Murphy's acceptance speech, he lauded shows like Modern Family for helping teach audiences about equality and acceptance.
