Arsenal's final points total during this season's Premier League has been predicted, after they returned to action following March's international break.

Tuesday night saw the Gunners pick up a 2-1 victory against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium to close the gap on table-topping Liverpool to nine points.

Goals from Mikel Merino and Bukayo Saka - who made his long-awaited return from a hamstring injury - secured the three points for Arsenal.

Arsenal moved to nine points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table thanks to that win over Fulham, with the Merseyside club set to face neighbours Everton on Wednesday evening at Anfield.

There are now eight matches left to play for Mikel Arteta's side, compared to nine for Liverpool, as this season's title race nears its conclusion. With it, Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers against and have predicted how many points the Gunners will finish the campaign with after 38 matches have been played.

The latest prediction has tipped Arsenal to finish with 78 (77.5) points in the Premier League. However, that isn't enough for the Gunners to leapfrog Liverpool, though, with their title rivals predicted to amass 89 (88.93) points this term - winning the title by 11 points as a result.

Arsenal have also been given just a 1.62 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title, this season, in that prediction. This is dramatically lower than Liverpool, who are the overwhelming favourites to be crowned league champions with a 98.38 per cent likelihood.

The Gunners will return to Premier League action this weekend when they travel to Goodison Park for the final time to meet Everton. That will be followed by the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid - which will be played at the Emirates Stadium.
