How to defeat this Normal and Fairy-type Mega Evolution.

Mega Audino, the Mega Evolution for the Hearing Pokémon (Audino equals audio, do you get it?), has debuted in Pokémon Go.

Released in Pokémon Go as part of the Mega Audino Raid Day in April 2025, Mega Audino sees this Pokémon transform from a pure Normal-type into a dual Normal and Fairy-type Pokémon. It also takes on a more fae-like appearance to represent this.

Like all Mega Evolutions, you can't simply transform an Audino into its Mega form. Instead, you'll need to defeat it in Mega Raids until you've collected enough Mega Audino Energy. So let's take a look at Mega Audino's counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go!

On this page:

Mega Audino counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go

The fastest way to collect Mega Audino Energy is to defeat one in a Mega Raid. Below you'll find the counters and weaknesses for Mega Audino to help in your Pokémon Go fight:

  • Mega Audino types - Normal and Fairy-type
  • Mega Audino is weak against - Poison and Steel-types
  • Mega Audino Mega counters - Mega Beedrill, Mega Gengar, Mega Steelix, Mega Scizor, Mega Aggron and Mega Lucario.
  • Mega Audino non-Mega counters - For Poison-types, Roserade, Nihilego, Naganadel, Revavroom and Overqwil. For Steel-types, Metagross, Dialga, Origin Forme Dialga, Dusk Mane Necrozma and Melmetal.
  • Tactics - Since Mega Audino only has two weaknesses, it's quite easy to build your team. Personally, I'd recommend looking at your strongest Steel-types first as it could include powerful Pokémon like Dusk Mane Necrozma - currently the best Steel-type in the game. If you don't have any of these recommended Steel-types, or want to fill some team gaps, then take a look at your Poison-types.

Mega Audino CP in Pokémon Go

Here are the CP ranges for battling Mega Audino and, if defeated, catching an Audino afterwards in Pokémon Go:

  • Mega Audino Raid CP - 24,493 CP
  • CP range for catching Audino - 901 to 961 CP
  • Weather (Partly Cloudy / Overcast) when being caught - 1,127 to 1,201 CP

The Might and Mastery Season has arrived. Stunning Styles is currently running! With it comes Paldean Tauros, an update for the Might and Mastery quest and A Striking Shadows Special Research for catching Marshadow. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

Best Mega Audino moveset in Pokémon Go

For Mega Audino's best moveset in Pokémon Go, we recommend Pound as a Fast Move and Hyper Beam as a Charged Move.

Now Mega Audino Raid day does add Body Slam to Audino's moveset, but this move isn't as powerful as it once was. Body Slam is only really useful if your opponent has one or, even better, no shields left and can't avoid the attack. For this reason, we recommend choosing Dazzling Gleam over Body Slam for this Pokémon's second Charged Move.

Below you'll find Audino's full moveset in Pokémon Go:

Fast Moves

  • Pound (Normal)
  • Zen Headbutt (Psychic)

Charged Moves

  • Body Slam (Normal)
  • Dazzling Gleam (Fairy)
  • Disarming Voice (Fairy)
  • Hyper Beam (Normal)

Everything we know about Audino

Audino's name appears to be connected to its large ears as it's clearly a play on the word 'audio', which, as I'm sure you'll know, is another word for sound.

More interestingly, Ken Sugimori, the illustrator for the Pokémon game's original artwork, stated in an interview with Nintendo Dream in January 2011 (translated by Dr. Lava) that Audino was originally designed to 'stand behind Nurse Joy' as he was worried 'the Pokémon anime would probably switch to all new Pokémon'.

We can see this thinking in Audino's design as it uses a similar pink and cream colour palette to Chansey - the Pokémon who has always, and will most likely continue, stood behind Nurse Joy in the anime. The feelers attached to its ears even seem to have a stethoscope-like shape!

Best of luck battling Mega Audino in Pokémon Go!
