Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are now live
Live early for those in the UK.
Pre-orders for Switch 2 in the UK are up and running, with Argos, Smyths, and Very going live on April 3, and now Amazon UK has joined the ranks. Amazon was previously accepting invite requests, and still is, but has now begun to send out its first wave of invites to pre-order Switch 2. This will be a turn up for those who missed out on Argos pre-orders, so it's time to check your inbox. EE also went live with its preorders today, but only has the Mario Kart World Bundle.
Amazon is also still accepting requests for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, and will selectively invite users to a pre-order invitation from now until June 5th. It's similar to the invite approach Nintendo is taking, albeit not based on overall play-time. Amazon has also said any invite links sent out will only remain active for 22 hours and that not all requests will be approved.
It's also worth mentioning that Amazon typically charges for pre-orders at dispatch, so buyers will pay for the console when it eventually ships in the summer. This is in contrast to Argos, who are charging upfront for the console, alongside a £3.99 delivery fee. Currys is also starting pre-orders from today, but in-store only.

If it's your first time trying to secure a console during a hotly anticipated launch, here are some quick tips. For starters, try not to refresh your browser once you're in a retailer queue, it'll just kick you to the back these days. Also, make sure you have an active account with your payment details saved to speed up the process on sites like Amazon.
With the Amazon listing already live, and pre-orders not available yet, add it to your wishlist and once your invite to pre-order is available, you'll be able to add to cart without competiting the traffic from everyone else flooding into the page.
Nintendo Switch 2 microSD express card storage
Our friends over at Digital Foundry have you covered with the best microSD express cards for Switch 2, but here's a quick run-down as well.
At the moment, we're seeing a handful of Micro SD Express cards in the UK from SanDisk and Lexar, with capacities from 128GB up to 1TB - the heady heights of 1.5TB and 2TB options for mega-bulk storage aren't with us just yet. As it stands, 256GB cards are arguably the best value as both 512GB and 1TB models are heinously expensive, even if the latter offers better price per GB
Right now, the best options we're seeing at the moment are 256GB options - this Samsung MicroSD Express is £47.35 from ShopTo (with SPRING code) and this SanDisk Micro SD Express $60 on Amazon USA.

Switch 2 release date
The Switch 2 will be released on Thursday 5th June.
Yes - that is the promised day! Make it down on your calendars, definitely don't skip school (I won't tell on you) or book the day off work (cos I definitely can't…). This date also marks the release of the Switch 2 launch titles, which you'll find listed down below.
Switch 2 price
The Switch 2 will be £395.99 / $449.99 / 469.99 € or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency.
The Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle will cost £429.99 / $449.99 / 509.99 € or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency.
Keep in mind that this pricing only covers the base console from Nintendo and the prices listed above are from the official My Nintendo Store. The cost will obviously rise if you purchase games and other additions, like extra controllers. It may also differ between realtors and you should be very careful of scalpers or scams.
Here's a quick rundown of the Switch 2 related prices copied verbatim from the My Nintendo Store for the regions shown:
