A 'two-up' moped was involved in a police chase in Nuneaton. Officers from Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) clocked the moped in the Longshoot area of town.
"It immediately reacted to the marked police vehicle prompting a pursuit," the team said. "Officers suspected this to be a stolen moped whereby the riders were suspected to be involved in criminality in the area."
As a result of the chase, the moped was left dumped and the two people on it fled. However, the team scoured the area and caught up with one of the pair.

"The driver of the moped was located," the team said. "Strange how the moped was registered and insured to the rider. When asked why he didn't stop he stated that he panicked.
"The moped was seized and the rider was taken home whereby he was reported for failing to stop for a constable, careless driving and driving otherwise than in accordance of his provisional licence."
As a result of the incident, the rider, who has not been identified, has been reported to court.
