  A great read which acurately captures the hopeless lives lived in Glasgow in those days. The housing might be better but although the addictions have changed many lives are cut short and lived in misery and sickness. It might not be comfortable reading for some but it represents a reality.
  However the story is a gripping page turner and it is hard to put down. All too soon it is finished and l am off to the short stories next. Well done Denzil.
