- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 July 2017How I enjoyed catching up with Mike Tomkies in the later part of his wildlife career. He was a tenacious, indomitable strong minded man.
I can't believe he's gone, but his work in film and print is a worthy legacy to a truly unique man who lived an amazing life on his own terms.
Sad in places, but absorbing and compulsive reading nonetheless.
Five Stars - Recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2017IF YOU LIKE TOMKIES YOU'LL ENJOY THIS EVEN IF HE IS SOMEWHAT CANTANKEROUS
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 February 2015Mike is feeling his age, and yet he still manages to engage the reader as he treks up into the hills he loves, and finds a world changing around him. An engaging book, which I found somewhat sad.
But, it is still full of Mike's world, wildlife, and experience, and well worth reading.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 September 2014Fantastic insight into the Author's life, yet he makes the wildlife the stars as always.
Top quality writing from a brilliant one off!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 December 2014Another excellent book from Mike Tomkies. It crept out almost unannounced- glad I found out about it.
