About the Author

Brian King was born and grew up in Dundee and has always had an interest in the changing face of the city. He now lives in Edinburgh where he received an MA (Hons) in History at university. He currently works as a professional searcher of public records. He still regularly visits Dundee. He has published a number of local history books for Amberley Publishing.

    This is a very small book, not much bigger than a 5x4 photograph. It is never the less packed with nostalgic photos of different areas of the city with a short chapter on the history. Nice book for a rainy afternoon.

    This product is of a very high quality, very well put together, and I'm sure it appeals to many people, however, I felt that the price was a little high for what I discovered is effectively a picture book. I bought this as a gift because a family member of mine had it on their wishlist- I bought it without looking into it too much because she had already shown interest. However, when the item arrived I was surprised to find that the contents was not what I expected and I'm sure not whether it'll be what she expected either. I anticipated the product to be more of a 'history book', but instead every page is dedicated to a very large image of a place in Dundee (the city I live in, so I'm very familiar with it), and a short piece of information on that place. That might be what some people are looking for, but I was not. It was quite disappointing and doesn't feel like an appropriate product to be given as a gift.
