Back-up goalkeeper's current deal expires this summer

Chelsea have announced that their backup goalkeeper Henrique Hilário has signed a new one-year contract at the club.

The Portuguese's contract was due to expire this summer, and despite being managerless, the London club have given the 35-year-old a new 12-month deal.

Hilário has failed to dislodge Petr Cech since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2006 and made only one appearance last season – against Manchester United in the Community Shield.

Hilário has played 37 times in total for the Premier League side.
