Jinder Mahal born as Yuvraj Singh Dhesi is a Canadian Professional Wrestler, who is currently signed with WWE and performs under the Raw brand. Dhesi started his professional wrestling training in 2002 at the Martial Arts Fitness Center in Calgary. He made his pro-wrestling debut at Premier Martial Arts Wrestling (PMW) under the ring name Raj Dhesi.

In 2010, Dhesi participated in WWE tryout and was assigned to wrestle for WWE’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under the ring name. Mahal soon called for main roster debut in 2011, continuing his Punjabi gimmick. Mahal had an under-card first run in the company, involving in a number of storylines, alliances and failed championship pursuits.

After returning to the company in 2016, Mahal adopted a gimmick of awakening the inner peace, which gained a lot of attention and response from the fans. The transformed body, brand new gimmick and the alliance with the singh brothers made the company give him the first major push, with which he became the WWE Champion for the very first time.

Mahal successfully defended his title against former champions and challengers and even countered money in the bank cash-in. However, with hours away from facing Brock Lesnar for the Champion vs Champion match lost the title to AJ Styles after 170 days. Mahal then captured the United States Championship, which doesn’t have a long tenure as he lost it in eight days.

He then had a number of injuries and surgeries, which forced him to take off from television. He currently wrestles occasionally and leads team Indus Sher. He was revealed as the leader of Indus Sher on an episode of NXT and quickly was drafted to Raw as a unit.
