Zero Day asks the question on everyone’s mind -- how do we find truth in a world in crisis, one seemingly being torn apart by forces outside our control? And in an era rife with conspiracy theory and subterfuge, how much of those forces are products of our own doing, perhaps even of our own imagining?

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Zero Day has plenty of gravitas thanks to its all-star cast led by Robert De Niro, but this high-concept series' plotting is a little too goofy for it to take itself so seriously.

Graeme Blundell The Australian There are some compelling, grandiose themes and they don’t always cohere all that consistently, but it’s a drama that grabs you by the throat from the start and hurtles towards a surprising conclusion. Mar 14, 2025 Full Review Peter Travers ABC News Robert De Niro, as a former POTUS with integrity, shines in his first crack at series TV, but the double Oscar winner and a top cast are trapped in a muddled, political thriller about cyber terrorism that is nowhere near as smart as it thinks it is . Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Sam Adams Slate What we get instead is a pundit-brained muddle designed to exploit national anxieties while studiously avoiding any hint of a point of view, riffing on recognizable figures but ignoring the context that produced them. Feb 20, 2025 Full Review Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier The plot was potentially good, but the series falls flat. There is no tension in something that should have had tension in its DNA. Mar 15, 2025 Full Review Ronak Kotecha The Times of India It may not be flawless, but its gripping premise and solid execution make it worth a binge. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 12, 2025 Full Review Juan José Beteta Cinencuentro ...Zero Day is a highly recommendable series: it offers an intriguing story, good elements of political suspense and personal drama, as well as a solid performance from Robert De Niro. Stephanie S I enjoyed the limited series Zero Day enough that I was excited for evening to come so I could see the story unfold. I almost turned it off after the first episode because of the generous f word in the script, but it was not as bad as Apple TVs Severance, which I did opt out of after a few episodes. PLEASE create content with expressive adjectives besides the tired f word and take out the gratuitous sex. Give as a real hero and regular families! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review Diego B Absolute Must-See. I have seen reviews from both critics and the audience really not loving this show. As a member of the audience I can only speak for myself; I loved Zero Day. It was thrilling from the beginning right up until the end. I think the show was full of big moments that just made me happy to see someone doing the right thing even when it was hard. I think there were several major twists that I did not see coming at all, which were awesome. I am a software engineer and from my limited knowledge of the field, the way the attack was explained seems incredibly plausible, contrary to a lot of the commentary. I think this show uses the current state of world to establish its premise and serve as almost as a cautionary tale for extreme actions from pretty much any ideological angle. Overall it was an incredible, addictive, and in the end, a feel good watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/25 Full Review Karen J Not the most significant show ever, but much better than I expected, given the luke warm reviews I've seen. Entertaining all the way through. Good acting, plot and pace. Enough plot twists to make me want to keep watching. And the story wraps up well. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/14/25 Full Review Linda B i found this to be a gripping, well-acted drama, with enough twists and turns to pull you in and keep you guessing. The premise is completely topical and possibly the less than stellar reviews may be due to borrowing overtly from some of our current affairs. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/25 Full Review Nicholas K Not bad, the mini series would have been better if the former POTUS was played by a different actor! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Mathies E For the first time - in a long time - I have been really drawn into the story of a Netflix series, really having me immersed with its drama and plot. I do not write reviews, but after watching the series and being filled with excitement of how good it was, I was curious as to what other felt about it. To say the least, there are a lot of polar opposites regarding the take's on this series. As one who thought it had a lot of really interesting parallels to the current political environment of the country and admiring how this was captivated within a really interesting, mysterious, and dramatic plot, I felt it necessary to leave a positive review. Loved it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/25 Full Review Read all reviews
