LIfe is a cabaret, all gender is drag, and Liza Minnelli will always be an icon.
RuPaul's Drag Race has announced that it will be honoring the EGOT winner, legendary singer, actor, and performer Liza Minnelli with the Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award during the season 17 finale.
Others who have received the award include Bob Mackie, who was honored in season 15, and Cassandra Peterson, also known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, who was honored in season 16.
Minnelli, the daughter of another legend, Judy Garland, is an icon of stage and screen, who won the Oscar for Best Actress for playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and was also nominated for her role in The Sterile Cuckoo.
She won an Emmy for her concert film Liza with a Z, where she sang classic songs like "Say Liza (Liza with a 'Z')," "Son of a Preacher Man," "Ring Them Bells," and a medley of songs from Cabaret.
She has two Tonys for Best Actress in a Musical, for Flora the Red Menace and The Act, and was honored with the Grammy Living Legend Award in 1990.
RuPaul's Drag Race was recently awarded Outstanding Reality Program – Competition at the 36th GLAAD Media Awards.
Sam Star, Suzie Toot, Onya Nurve, Jewels Sparkles, and Lexi Love are currently the final five queens fighting for the crown this season.
The finale of season 17 will take place Friday, April 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
