- Aaron Funk will release an album of modular synth tracks in February.

Venetian Snares will drop his next LP on February 19th.
Traditional Synthesizer Music marks a more restrained approach for the Winnipeg producer, famous for his frenetic breakcore material. Every sound on the record was created with a modular synthesizer, and there was no editing or overdubbing during the sessions. Instead, there was an attempt to "humanize" the music by creating variations in rhythm and sounds, with the press release calling the LP "an exercise in constructing surprises." Traditional Synthesizer Music will be a co-release between Funk's Timesig label and his long-time home, Planet Mu.
The new record comes in the wake of a turbulent 2015 for Funk, when he was forced to asked fans for money to help him out of a precarious financial situation. He later released a thank-you album in response.
