Contributions through IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)
A tax-free way to contribute from your IRA
A tax-free way to contribute from your IRA
IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions, known as an IRA QCD or an IRA rollover, allows you to make a contribution directly from your IRA to a qualified charity such as NCSE and avoid paying federal income taxes on that contribution.
If you are 70 ½ old or older, you are eligible to make an annual tax-free QCD contribution from your IRA. And when you’re 73 or older, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA.
To make an IRA QCD contribution, contact your IRA administrator to arrange a direct transfer from your account. We encourage you to tell your broker to include your name and address with the check. The check can be sent to:
NCSE
230 Grand Avenue, Suite 101
Oakland, CA 94610
If you would like to make an electronic direct deposit (ACH) to NCSE’s bank from your IRA, please contact Director of Development Deb Janes at janes@ncse.ngo or 510-601-7203 to obtain NCSE’s bank account information.
If you make recurring donations as a sustainer and wish to switch your payments to an IRA QCD contribution, please contact Donor Services at donor-services@ncse.ngo or call 510-601-7203.
