Melissa McCarthy erhielt eine Nominierung in der Kategorie Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Insgesamt schaffte es Mike & Molly im Debütjahr auf zwei Nominierungen. Ihr Kollege Joshua Jackson hingegen ging leer aus. Fringe schaffte es erneut nur auf eine Nominierung.

Zu den Topfavoriten zählen jedoch andere Serien: Die Miniserie Mildred Pierce machte das Rennen mit insgesamt 21 Nominierungen. Dicht dahinter rangieren Mad Men (19 Nominierungen), Boardwalk Empire (18 Nominierungen), Modern Family (17 Nominierungen) und Saturday Night Live (16 Nominierungen).

Der Fantasyserie Game of Thrones gelang es, 13 Nominierungen einzuheimsen. Sie hat somit gute Chancen auf eine Auszeichnung. Ebenfalls auf 13 Nominierungen brachte es 30 Rock. Das Musicalphänomen Glee liegt mit zwölf Nominierungen nur knapp hinter „Game of Thrones“ und „30 Rock“.
