CLEANING LADY, THE (FOX) - Clayton Cardenas is bound for the new season as Dante, "Ramona's (Kate del Castillo) trusted lieutenant who is intense and authoritative with a dangerous edge. Unconcerned with anything but protecting the business, Dante grows increasingly aggravated with Thony (Élodie Yung), who constantly undermines their operations." (Deadline.com, 12/22)
DOC - IN YOUR HANDS (FOX) - Molly Parker has landed the title role on the upcoming drama series: the hard-charging, brilliant Dr. Amy Elias, Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she's treated, colleagues she's crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience. (Deadline.com, 12/19)
FIRE COUNTRY (CBS) - Tye White and Jason O'Mara have both scored recurring roles on the series. White will play Cole, "an MMA fighter meets family man, now a prison inmate and Bode's cellmate. Cole has made some mistakes of his own in the past and has learned from them, becoming a better man." And O'Mara will portray Liam, "a hunky firefighter with a relaxed confidence. Liam is a former colleague of Sharon's (Diane Farr) who runs into Sharon and Vince (Billy Burke) and is very glad to see her." (Deadline.com, 12/19)
NEIGHBORHOOD, THE (CBS) - Skye Townsend will recur on the upcoming season as Courtney, "described as very smart - she entered MIT at 16 and worked at JPL before 21 - very cool, very outgoing and with a great sense of humor. She worked with Marty (Marcel Spears) at JPL and he's recently hired her as an electrical engineer at The Fuse Box. A few months back, they hooked up and now Courtney is pregnant. She's very upfront about the fact that she likes Marty, but she won't marry him." Additionally, Kevin Pollak will also return as Dave Johnson's (Max Greenfield) father. (Deadline.com, 12/21)
SHINING VALE (Starz) - The pay channel has canceled the comedy series after two seasons and will pull all episodes from its streaming platform at the end of the year. Said report indicates the series "did not find a large enough audience to continue." (Variety.com, 12/20)
UNCLE FESTER (Netflix, New!) - The streamer is reportedly mulling a "Wednesday" spin-off series revolving around Fred Armisen‘s Uncle Fester. No other details however given. Al Gough, Miles Millar, Tim Burton, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman, Gail Berman, Tommy Harper and Kevin Lafferty will presumably executive produce for MGM Television, Toluca Pictures, 1.21 Entertainment, Glickmania and Tee and Charles Addams Foundation. (Bloomberg.com, 12/17)
UNTITLED BRAD INGELSBY TASK FORCE PROJECT (HBO) - Raúl Castillo, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel and Alison Oliver are the latest additions to the Mark Ruffalo-led drama series. Castillo plays Cliff, "Robbie's lifelong best friend and devout cynic"; with McShane as Perry, "a feared and respected man who's made a career out of mayhem"; Keeley as Jayson, "the leader of a local crime organization"; Frankel as Anthony, "an integral member of Tom's (Ruffalo) task force"; and Oliver as Lizzie, "an underperforming state police officer who is added to Tom's team." (Deadline.com, 12/18, Deadline.com, 12/20)
UNTITLED ROLLING STONES PROJECT (FX) - The proposed series "chronicling the band's glory years has taken a tumble out of development" with the cable channel. It's understood producers are "regrouping" about its future. (Deadline.com, 12/19)
WARRIOR (Max) - The streamer has pulled the plug on the martial arts crime drama after three seasons. It's understood Netflix has acquired the series' library in a co-exclusive deal to launch in February 2024. "Warrior is a show that simply refuses to die. Through platform and regime changes, the writers, producers, cast, crew, and our stunt team continued to make something powerful, relevant, and wildly unique. And now, thanks to Netflix, we've been given yet another lease on life, and I'm thrilled for everyone involved that millions more viewers around the world will discover it," series creator Jonathan Tropper told the publication. (Deadline.com, 12/18)
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (FX) - The comedy's upcoming sixth season will be its last. (Vulture.com, 12/19)
