Campaign themes

2016

Harrington's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Invest in Public Education

  • Andrea is strongly OPPOSED to lifting the Charter Cap.

Create Jobs & Help Small Businesses Succeed

  • As small business owners, Andrea and Tim know how to create jobs. In the Senate, Andrea will fight for increased funding for infrastructure repairs to create jobs, and she’ll make expanding high-speed internet a priority to help local businesses grow.

Invest in Renewable Energy & Protect our Environment

  • As a small business owner, Andrea knows we need cheaper energy options for businesses to remain competitive. She will prioritize investments in alternative energy and green jobs to bring more opportunity to the region.

Improve Regional Transportation Infrastructure

  • Limited public transportation options hinder the ability of businesses to hire and maintain a workforce. Andrea will stand up for us and make sure Western Massachusetts is strongly represented by pushing for increased BRTA funding.

Quality, Affordable Healthcare for all

  • Everyone deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care. Andrea believes that health care is a right, not a privilege.
  • Andrea is a strong supporter of a single-payer “Medicare for All” system that would allow everyone access to quality healthcare. A single-payer system would reduce unnecessary administrative costs and produce significant cost savings – enough to provide universal care.[1]
