Angel of Mine plot
Lizzie had to give up her daughter seven years ago. Now she suddenly encounters the girl Lola, who resembles her child like two drops of water. Lizzie increasingly loses her grip on reality when she thinks her daughter is still alive. As she battles custody of her son, her obsession with Lola grows and she befriends his mother.

They could have changed the names of the two ladies on the movie poster....
Exciting, an escalation was predictable, yet an unexpected twist at the end.

Brought this one and checked it out. The film didn't immediately ring a bell, but it did have some famous people. It was still a good movie, which managed to keep my attention on the movie. The film remained mysterious enough to captivate for its entire running time. Also a successful ending.
The cast also did a great job and came across convincingly.
No expectations for this movie, but it was worth watching.

Lizzie [Noomi Rapace] has been in therapy to cope with her daughter's death, and she still struggles to care for her son Thomas [Finn Little]. Lizzie brightens up when she sees Lola [Annika Whiteley] at a birthday party and through his brother [Indi Serafin] manages to contact Lola's mother Claire [Yvonne Strahovski]. The two women become friends, until Lizzie's attention to Lola begins to grow obsessive. The screenplay could have resulted in an exploitative B-thriller, but Rapace presents a nuanced, believable and sympathetic portrait of a mother who tries to function as well as possible despite her intense grief over the death of her child. Farrant gradually builds up the suspense until the captivating finale and Whiteley is perfect as the girl who's all about it. Originally made into a film in 2008 as L'Empreinte d l'Ange, starring Catherine Frot.
