Miranda's Victim plot

In 1963, eighteen-year-old Patricia Weir is kidnapped and brutally raped. The aftermath turns out to be worse: Trish's mother blames her, the American justice system is biased and society has no sympathy for rape victims. However, Trish remains strong and tries to get Ernesto in prison. Together with her sister, Ann, Trish goes to the police to tell her story.

Docudrama-like film about the so-called “Miranda Rights”, the rights of a suspect during interrogation by the police. However, this can lead to the rights of the victim being seriously compromised. Director Michelle Danner has made a balanced and informative drama about this sensitive subject with a fine performance by Abigail Breslin.

Good film about a young woman who is raped by a man on her way home. An entertaining, true courtroom drama that actually tells two stories. An interesting piece of American judicial history about the rights that must be read out when a suspect is arrested (a piece of text that appears in countless films and series).
